Who are we?

Christians Together in Kentdale is a network of Christians in Kendal and the Kent Valley area of South Cumbria . It includes the Churches, charities and organizations to which they belong and the Ministries which serve them.

Welcome

Welcome to the CTiK website. Christian faith, witness and service are very much a part of the life of Kendal and the surrounding villages here in South Lakeland.

Here you will find information and links for a variety of churches and organisations in the area and the diversity reflects two important things that we have come to recognise.

Firstly the Church is more than a single congregation and Christian leaders and church members are frequently to be seen working and worshipping in partnership together.

Secondly, Christian worship is about living one’s whole life for Christ and not simply attending a Christian service in a religious building. Information and links on this site will draw your attention to the reality that the church is at work in many areas of our community. In this area of Cumbria you will find not only traditional church services and teaching programmes but a range of projects such as a Fair Trade initiative, Schools and Youth Work, and a Homelessness Advice Centre.

Christianity is the life of Jesus Christ lived by ordinary people usually without lots of publicity or acclaim. Christ’s people are found at all levels in all sections of the community and in all trades and professions demonstrating the love that God, through Jesus Christ, has for the world and all who live in it.

Statement of Intent

Churches Together in England unites in pilgrimage those churches in England which; acknowledge God’s revelation in Christ; confess the Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour according to the scriptures; commit themselves to obedience to God’s will and in the power of the Holy Spirit seek a deepening communion with Christ and with one another in the church, which is His body; and to fulfil their mission to proclaim the Gospel by common witness and service in the world, to the glory of the One God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

In line with this statement Christians in Kentdale celebrate their unity and seek to work together to fulfil their mission to proclaim the Gospel by common witness and service.
